Vatsalya realized the need to work on various psychosocial problems of children which most of the time remain undealt with mainly due to ignorance by the parents or non availability or inaccessibility of child guidance centers.

‘KHUSHI’ the Child and Parents’ Guidance Centre has been set up by Vatsalya on 4th Oct.2003.

This Center caters to the needs of the children with various problems such as : Psychological, behavioural, emotional, scholastic as well as social, including mental disorders like autism, hyperactivity, depression; Adjustment problems of adolescents are also dealt with in this Center.

To deal with the above mentioned problems, various therapies such as play therapy, behavioural therapy, speech therapy, family therapy, pharmaco therapy & remedial education are used.

KHUSHI works with parents so as to help them understand their child’s problem and thus guide them to overcome the situation, as parents are important stakeholders in child’s healthy development. In addition to this KHUSHI also conducts Activity workshops for children in various age groups.

KHUSHI organizes various workshops for teachers on various issues related to identifying and understanding student’s psychological, behavioural, emotional, scholastic needs and problems.

Beneficiaries of this Center are children in the age group of 3 to 18 years and their parents. A team comprising of professionals such as special educator, psychiatrist, pediatrician, counselor and clinical psychologist work for KHUSHI.
